To promote the concrete application of principles of fairness, correctness and transparency, to protect the intrinsic values of products Made in Italy and in the light of the increasing importance attached worldwide to the proper indication of origin of goods, Florim applies the Recommendation of the Board of Governors of Confindustria Ceramica, which require member Companies to clearly indicate the country of origin in English on every product marketed and on the relative packaging.
Anticipating national and EC regulations on the obligation of indicating the origin of goods, Florim has decided to take this decisive step towards transparency in the market and in business dealings, confirming once again its leading position and accompanying its leadership in design and innovation with a strong statement on ethical values. By voluntarily taking this initiative, Florim exemplifies a model of business behaviour inspired by commercial integrity and aimed at ensuring respect for customers and end users by providing adequate information on an increasingly important part of the purchasing process.
As regards ceramic tiles, regulations on “Made In” indications state that the country of origin to indicate is the country where the tiles’ first firing is carried out; the obligation to print the indication directly on the products does not apply to special trims or tiles whose surface area can be inscribed in a square having a side length of less than 7 cm, due to the objective difficulty of printing the Made in indication on small articles and in compliance with the conventions on customs nomenclature and the relevant technical regulations. However, these goods are still subject to the obligation to indicate the country of origin on the packaging.
